Juried Open Competition

 

"NEXT"

"NEXT" is the theme of the 2010 Open Juried Exhibition. The purpose of "NEXT" is to showcase a body of work, from 32 artists, each displaying 3-5 works.

The exhibit of both 2D and 3D work includes painting, photography, sculpture and fine crafts by artists from throughout the Pacific Northwest region.

Opening Celebration

On Friday, July 30th, the weekend before the Festival, the Arts at the Port officially opens with a celebration from 5:30 to 8 pm. Join us for this community celebration of the arts. Tickets are $15 and include wine, appetizers and music.

$10,500 in Awards

"NEXT" Juried Artists are eligible for awards of $10,500 including

  • $ 2,500 2D Award - NEW
  • $ 2,500 3D Award - NEW
  • $ 4,000 "Anacortes Collects" Festival Public Art Purchase Award
  • $ 1,000 Peoples' Choice Award
  • $ 500 T Bailey Corporate Award

The Juror

"NEXT" 2010 Juror Esther Luttikhuizen began her career as a studio artist, exhibiting widely in the Midwest and East Coast. After earning an MFA at U of W, she co-founded Esther Claypool Gallery in Seattle's Pioneer Square. She has served as director of Kittredge Gallery at University of Puget Sound and public art project manager for Washington State Arts Commission. Today, Luttikhuizen is on staff at 4Culture (King County) working in public art as curator of collections and also managing Gallery4Culture.
