The Anacortes Arts Festival is grateful for the time our volunteers have given this year to make the Festival all that it is. As our organization grows and new events are created, we continue to rely on our volunteers more than ever. We appreciate their dedication to our mission of creating a vibrant arts community here on Fidalgo Island.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers and happy holidays!

The Anacortes Arts Festival has chosen Jim and Terry MacDonald as our Volunteers of the Year for 2015. This husband and wife duo has been volunteering with the Festival for several years now. Each year their involvement grows and their contributions have expanded. They have become an integral part of our volunteer family.
For the last couple of years, Jim and Terry have designed and produced the Arts Festival’s amazing display at Winter Wonderland in Washington Park. Last year they put together a spectacular rainbow of lights and we are all anxious to see their plans for this year’s display!
In addition to Winter Wonderland, the MacDonalds have helped set up the last few Fine Art Shows, and helped with our Art in Bloom events in April. They are always up for lending a hand wherever they can.
Terry and Jim give an incredible amount of time to the Arts Festival and have an infectious positive energy they bring to each and every project they are involved in. Please join me in recognizing and celebrating the MacDonalds as Volunteers of the Year!
Here is a short time lapse video of our wonderful volunteers in action this weekend. The work so hard, keep smiles on their faces and help make all of our visitors feel incredibly welcome. Thank you to the more than 250 people, who give of their time to make the Anacortes Arts Festival a special weekend for all of us.
To all of our amazing volunteers who help make the Anacortes Arts Festival so successful, please join us at our ‘Thank You’ Reception, in your honor.
This year, the reception will be held on August 13th, 5:30pm at Seafarer’s Memorial. Dinner will be included, so please RSVP if you will be joining us. You can call Jennifer at the office(360)293-6211 or by email.
We look forward to celebrating another successful Festival with you!

Beautiful light display created by Terry and Jim MacDonald
Terry and Jim MacDonald have been volunteering with the Anacortes Arts Festival for several years. Their talents are many and we are so fortunate to have them as a part of our team. This past December, they helped design and produce the Arts Festival’s amazing winter light display at Winter Wonderland in Washington Park. If you were there, you may have seen our rainbow of lights, children’s craft area, Frozen’s Princess Anna and highly talented carolers. Thank you to Terry and Jim for taking on such a huge endeavor and creating a beautifully lit campsite for all to enjoy!
A big thank you to the other volunteers for helping our Winter Wonderland site come together and joining us for two evenings of fun; Teresa and Jim Kolp, Peter Heffelfinger, Geralyn Curtis, Julia James, Constance Wray, Lisa Kuhnlein, Susan Parke, Laura Hamilton, Richard Bergner, Mark Lione, Bailey Cunningham and Mackenzie Wilson.
If you have ever thought about being an art docent, the Art in Bloom Fine Art Exhibition is a great opportunity to learn more about this important volunteer role at the Festival. We need volunteers to work shifts at the Depot Arts Center throughout the exhibition (April 11 – 18). Contact Jennifer at 360-293-6211 if you are interested.
