We’ve been asked a number of times if the Festival is still happening this summer. With every ounce of hope we have, we are still planning for the 2020 Anacortes Arts Festival. We are working with our artists and vendors to extend our timelines as much as possible, trying to be prepared for whatever comes our way.
Art Festivals and other public events are important to our social well-being. When it is safe to gather, we will need to have places to celebrate life and all that we are grateful for. Our Anacortes businesses need events like the Festival to help them recover. The artists need the festivals to help them recover. And, all of us, need the Festival to celebrate all that is good in our worlds.
For now…we are celebrate the amazing levels of creativity bubbling from industries, businesses and individuals. We are celebrate the kindness and caring that we see in others as they search for ways to help others. We celebrate the unique ways that human beings are staying connected. And, in August, we hope to be celebrating all of these things in the streets of Downtown Anacortes.
This is an unusual and strange time that we are living in. Let us all remember to find daily reasons to be grateful, even in some days they are harder to find than others.
We will keep everyone updated, as the world continues to change and we will do our very best to continue to support artists, art and art programs in Anacortes.
