Special Art Experience
Artists Steve Klein and Lanny Bergner have created a unique art experience fundraiser for the Anacortes Arts Festival. You will have the opportunity to create your own art, side-by-side with each artist, in their studio. Not only do you get a behind-the-scene look into their creative space, you also get to put your own creativity to work. Your donation allows you to have two very unique art experiences. A limited number* of these packages are available.
The package includes:
- Two people for a 2 – 3 hour private art class in each of the artist’s studios.
- Each person will create a hands-on personally designed fused glass piece with Steve Klein and a flame painted biomorphic stainless steel basket with Lanny Bergner.
- Working side-by-side in their studios will give you a glimpse of how these artists find their inspiration and the work that goes into making their art.
Cost: $1,000 per package, donation to Anacortes Arts Festival (501c3)
*This unique experience will be limited to ten packages.
To reserve your experience, contact Meredith at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you to our volunteers for making the 2019 Anacortes Arts Festival our best yet!
Each volunteer works tirelessly to serve festival guests and artists while also showing what an amazing community Anacortes is. Thank you for your time, thank you for your efforts and most importantly, thank you for the kindness you display while representing the Festival. We couldn’t do it without you!
It’s that time of year again. Time to plan your volunteer schedule at the Anacortes Arts Festival!
More than 250 volunteers are the heart of the Festival and we couldn’t pull off this fabulous event without them. Shifts are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And, you can find something to match your interests…booth sitting, fine art document, bartender, youth area volunteer and so much more.
Check out our online link and find your perfect spot!
As far as volunteer gigs go, this couldn’t get any better! Join us for a night of Jimmy Buffett music & fun, at the Buffett Beach Bash. Wash your winter blues away AND help us raise money for art for our students.
You can sign up for a volunteer shift online.

Our Collectors Club members are invited to a private docent led art tour February 22 at 11am, Skagit Valley College Art Gallery, at the Gary Knutzen Cardinal Center. The art tour will be led by Lanny Bergner and features artist Eve Deisher (1953-2017). This solo exhibition is curated by her husband Lanny, and spans Eve’s work from 1995-2015, during which time she was an art faculty member at Skagit Valley College. The work is mixed media, incorporating paper, fiber, thread and organics. Join us and learn what makes Eve’s work so expressive and unique.
Save the Date – May 3, 2019 – 5-7pm
Collectors Club members are also invited to a Preview Opening of the Smith and Vallee Gallery May show featuring Becky Fletcher, Camille Nordgren, Roger Small and Lynn Zimmerman. Watch for more details to come.

Thank you to the many volunteers who made the 2018 Festival our best yet!
What is accomplished in three short days, is nothing short of a miracle thanks to our 250 dedicated volunteers. We have folks helping in the information booth, delivering lunches, entertaining kids in our youth area, docents working at the Fine Art Exhibition and so much more.
Thank you as well to our entire community for welcoming visitors into our wonderful town over Festival weekend. We are proud to say that participants often tell us this is one of the friendliest places they visit each year!
Volunteers are still needed for the 2018 Color Run! This exciting 5K run will be held on April 14 at the Anacortes Art Depot. Maybe running isn’t your thing, but you’d like to join in the fun as a volunteer. We still need color throwers, route control, registration help and more. Follow the sign-up link to see the open shifts.
If you have any questions, please contact Geralyn at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This year’s Festival Volunteers of the Year were husband and wife team, Val and Jim Gleason. This dynamic duo worked for years in the Port Pub, Spring Fest – and were always willing to jump in as needed – and always with a smile. It is with great sadness that we share that Jim passed away shortly after the Festival. He was a generous and happy spirit, who will be greatly missed.
Thank you to all of our volunteers who make the Anacortes Arts Festival possible! As the largest event in Anacortes, Festival weekend is only possible with the help that our 250 volunteers provide. This year was our most successful Festival to date and our volunteers are a large part of this success!
Thank you also to our community, for supporting the Festival and welcoming our visitors to town. We are proud that Anacortes is a fantastic destination not only for our artists, but for all of our Festival goers to enjoy!
