A big welcome to Geralyn Curtis, our new Volunteer Coordinator! Geralyn has been a volunteer for over 20 years and is now moving into a larger role with the Festival. She has worked the last several years as our Volunteer Team Leader in the Beer Gardens and Wine Bar. Prior to that she was also the Team Leader in the Information Booth.
Geralyn is a wonderful asset to the Festival! She is not only experienced and knowledgeable, but she is such a fun and positive presence. We are incredibly fortunate to have her onboard and hope that you’ll join us in welcoming her in this new role.

Thank you to our wonderful Spring Fest Volunteers! With multiple events during the month of April, we were happy to have so much help. The Anacortes Arts Festival couldn’t accomplish as much as we do without you!

Winter Wonderland – December 9 & 10 from 5pm-8pm
Come join us at Washington Park as we create a festive holiday campsite for our community to enjoy! Santa will be making a guest appearance again this year and we will have fun games for families to participate in.
Volunteers are needed for setting up the campsite (string lights, decorate etc.) as well as santa helpers and children’s game attendants for both evenings.

Each year, the Anacortes Arts Festival selects a volunteer to be our ‘Volunteer of the Year’. This person is generally someone who is involved across multiple areas of the Festival and gives of their time throughout the year. We are incredibly fortunate to have so many amazing volunteers, which makes the decision a difficult one.
For 2016, the Arts Festival has chosen Paul Monohon as our Volunteer of the Year. Paul has been volunteering with the Festival for seven years and continues to find new ways of getting involved. He always shows up with a smile and asks how he can help. Paul worked as an Art Docent, Booth Sitter and as traffic control during the Art Dash at this year’s Festival. He also distributed posters in town to help get the word out about our Festival dates.
How lucky we are to have Paul as a volunteer and we appreciate his time and dedication to the Arts Festival. His positive energy and enthusiasm are contagious! Please join me in recognizing and celebrating Paul Monohon as Volunteer of the Year.
Thank you to all of our volunteers who make the Anacortes Arts Festival come alive! As the largest event in Anacortes, it is only possible with the help that our 255 volunteers provide. We are thrilled that this was such a successful Festival and want to make sure our volunteers know how much they are appreciated.
Thank you also to our community, for supporting the Festival and welcoming our visitors to town. We are proud that Anacortes is such a vibrant and friendly destination for our artists as well as Festival goers!
Be a part of Anacortes’ largest community event of the year, the 55th Anacortes Arts Festival will be held on August 5-7th. We are looking for community members who want to join in the fun and participate through volunteering! There are lots of different jobs; art docent, information booth, booth sitter, lunch delivery, youth area, production set-up, beer garden, wine bar and so much more.
Come enjoy the Festival and represent your community while doing something fun! Signing up is simple, just go to the online sign-up and pick what works for your schedule. The Anacortes Chamber’s Waterfront Festival is just around the corner and the Festival is excited to be involved again as a part of the Youth Area. We will be in the Channel of Discovery, helping kids make a fun art project.
We still need a few more volunteers to work in our space, helping kids be creative and offering them as-needed assistance as they work on their take-home art project.

Proceeds from our Art in Bloom Fine Art Exhibition, Evening of Color Auction and The Art of Shopping benefit the Anacortes School District Cultural Arts Program. Proceeds from our Do the Bloom Color Run support public art on Fidalgo Island. We’re proud to give back to our community, but it’s the help of our volunteers that make this possible. Thank you for making Art in Bloom such a huge success.

The Anacortes Arts Festival is looking for volunteers to help with our April Art in Bloom events. There are lots of different ways for community members to participate. A Fine Art Show, an auction, a color run, or our new Art of Shopping event – the choice is yours and we hope you’ll join us.
