As an official partner in the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, we are offering an exciting lineup of art related events at the Depot Art Center, 611 R Ave, in Anacortes for 10 days in April. Through these events we fund the Anacortes School District Cultural Arts Program and public art projects.
Spring Fest, Saturday & Sunday, April 22 & 23 is our NEWEST adventure, recreating the model of the August Festival on a smaller scale. Featuring a variety of regional booth artisans, Spring Fest will fill the Depot grounds with art and crafts in all different mediums…all free to the public. Spring Fest will include live music – food trucks, wine & beer – youth activities – and demonstrating artists.
The 4th annual Fine Art Exhibition, April 14 – 23 (except April 16), will feature bodies of work from regional fine artists, working in both 2D and 3D – geared toward emerging collectors. It is juried by the Festival Curatorial Team that includes arts professionals with museum, gallery and artist backgrounds.
The Public Opening will be on Friday, April 14th from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm – a free evening of fine art, wine, refreshments – and an opportunity to meet the artists.
Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Depot Arts Center
Not an auction! Join us for an evening of FUNraising and celebration!
This is our fourth annual evening event at the Depot, with a twist. It raises funds to support arts education for Anacortes school children. This year we are getting away from a traditional auction and moving to a fun experience-based evening.
The celebration will include dueling pianos entertainment, food-truck small plates, a hosted bar, craft cocktails created by Mixologist Tim Moffitt and a variety art experiences. And, of course, the ever-important dessert… BumbleBerry Cobbler by Gere-a-Deli.
Saturday, April 22 starting at 10:00 am. In this 5k fun run, participants get “painted” with colored powder at multiple course locations. It is suitable for all ages, and encourages group participation (even friendly dogs are invited).
Registration is through Active.com.
